An annotation is a critical or explanatory note inserted into text to better clarify meaning. We began this process to help expand on the meaning of the A.A. Big Book. The process led us to other AA literature and our thought was simple—what better annotation is there than the Daily Reflections? This cross reference from the AA Big Book to the Daily Reflections allows readers to easily expand their understanding of the Big Book by referencing the well-respected Daily Reflections. This book is a combination of AA approved literature and we believe adds value to students of AA.

This material was found in 2004 by an AA member in Sweden who then used it in a group with other AA members.

The group experience was positive and can be recommended for anyone considering it as a help in working AA’s Twelve Steps.

This material was made and used during the early1990’s by North American members of AA who chose to remain anonymous.

The original material was designed to be used in groups. If however you wish to use this material solely together with your sponsor that works, too.

Just ignore the references for use in larger groups of 8-12 people.

This study material sticks closely to AA’s Big Book, Alcoholics Anonymous. There are many page references to help each person working the steps to easily refer back to AA’s major text.

It may be helpful to point out what is at times a source of confusion for AA members: that AA’s first three steps cannot be found in numerical order in the Big Book.

However, any person studying the first five and a half chapters of Alcoholics Anonymous can be assured of covering all three of AA’s first three steps.

It may also be helpful to point out that this study material is more detailed in the first four steps than in the remaining ones.

Author 'Santa C.' has been a vital part of the early recovery for many of my clients here at Blue Mountain Counseling. One of the striking features of AA For Dummies is that it answers so many questions that 'newcomers' have. It also brings to the forefront what made early AA so successful. A.A. For Dummies is a must read for any counselor who comes into contact with alcoholic clients, this book will 'un-bastardize' what treatment centers have done in trying to change AA from its early roots.

Drama / 3m, 3f (w/doubling) / Unit set Newly revised edition! From the author of the best-selling novel, The House of God, this critically acclaimed version which played Off-Broadway in 2007, tells the amazing story of the two men who pioneered Alcoholics Anonymous, and of their wives, who founded Al Anon. During the roaring '20s, New York stockbroker Bill Wilson rides high on money, fame, and booze. In '29, both he and the market crash and he becomes a hopeless drunk. Dr. Bob Smith, a surgeon in Akron, Ohio, and a pillar of the community, has been a secret drunk for thirty years, often going into the operating room hungover and high on sedatives. His family has tried everything to no avail. Through an astonishing series of events involving doctors, ministers, the Oxford Group evangelical movement, and Henrietta Sieberling a scion of the Goodyear Rubber fortune, Bill and Bob meet on Mother's Day of 1935. The two men form a relationship which keeps each sober. Fired up, they seek out a third drunk to see if their program will work for others. Richly textured with the ragtime and jazz of the era, the play tells a magnificent American success story. "A deeply human, audience embracing tale." - Variety "One of the best plays of the year." - San Diego Union Tribune "Inspiring." - Boston Globe

After traveling the world doing workshops on the steps and Big Book studies for over twenty years, Danny has realized how many people have no real understanding of the program of recovery. The national recovery rate of 15 percent success is a far cry from the statistics of 75 percent presented in the Big Book. This book outlines the most common mistakes and misunderstandings that happen daily with the recovering population. If you want a new understanding of the 12-Step Program, this book is a must-read.
