When her wedding to John “Basil” Henderson didn’t come off as planned, Yancey Harrington Braxton flew off to L.A. and remade herself as mega-diva Yancey B. And Basil started concentrating on his career as a high-powered sports agent. But then Yancey’s first single, “Any Way the Wind Blows,” hit the charts, and now it threatens to blow Basil’s cover--if anyone learns who it’s really about. And it looks like the gorgeous (and ambitious) hunk Bart Dunbar might just have it all figured out. From the Trade Paperback edition.

In 1976, Don and Judy Cremer, and their two very young children, moved into a Christian commune in an inner-city district of Portland, Oregon. Participants in a risky outreach experiment, they expected to experience "all things in common" with their co-habitants. But suddenly thrust into a myriad of both personal and corporate struggles, they unexpectedly discovered the "uncommon"-and often miraculous-protection and provision of God. Coping with dangers and dilemmas, and developing discernment of the "winds of the Spirit"-without being blown away by "every wind of doctrine"-has produced an indelible imprint of spiritual maturity in their lives. Written with delightful candor and authenticity, Judy's memoir allows us a peek over her shoulder, taking us back in time 30 years. Her story is just as compelling and relevant for today, as she touches on the Vietnam War era, Ford's presidency, the birth of the New Monastic Movement. Born in Portland, Oregon, Judith Cremer returned there at age 19, after meeting and marrying her husband, Donald, in California. It was there, in the midst of the "Jesus Movement" revival of the 1970s, they experienced the events chronicled in this memoir. Following her career as a retail store manager and paralegal during the 1980s and 90s, she now relishes the slower pace of life in the Arkansas Ozarks. She and Don have four grown children and six grandchildren, and one of their favorite pastimes is traveling around the country visiting them. They enjoy renovating their historic home and remain occupied working with various local ministries. For many years Judith wrote a monthly column in her church's newsletter, and has led and formatted women's Bible studies. Judith has numerous essays and short stories to her credit, dealing with current events, women's interest and Christian growth. This is her first book.

You Don't Need A Weatherman To Know Which Way The Wind Blows The overriding consideration in answering these questions is that the main struggle going on in the world today is between US imperialism and the national liberation struggles against it. This is essential in defining political matters in the whole world: because it is by far the most powerful, every other empire, and petty dictator is in the long run dependent on US imperialism, which has unified, allied with, and defended all of the reactionary forces of the whole world. Thus, in considering every other force or phenomenon, from Soviet imperialism or Israeli imperialism to "workers struggle" in France or Czechoslovakia, we determine who are our friends and who are our enemies according to whether they help US imperialism or fight to defeat it.

Mathematician, physicist, astronomer and cosmologist, Sir Fred Hoyle is perhaps best known, in scientific circles, for his explanation of the origin of the elements from hydrogen nuclei in stars (a process known as nucleosynthesis) and for developing (with Sir Hermann Bondi and Thomas Gold) the controversial steady-state theory of the Universe (which assumes the continuous creation of matter). In 1950, in the last of a series of radio lectures on astronomy that he delivered on the air for the BBC, Hoyle coined the term Big Bang to characterize the competing expanding-Universe theory, which has since become the dominant paradigm. This term has now become a permanent addition to the language of cosmology.
